Walk-ins applicants will be taken on a first-come, first-served basis on the day of the test and will need to arrive no later than 6:45 a.m. Preference will be given to those that sign up before the exam.

The Irving Police Department has scheduled its next civil service exam at 8 a.m. November 16th in Irving, Texas at Austin Middle School located at 825 E. Union Bower Rd., Irving, TX 75061. The physical fitness portion of the exam will be given immediately following the written test at Irving High School located at 900 N. O'Connor Rd., Irving, TX 75061
The Irving Police Department will simultaneously be giving a civil service exam in Vista, California at Hyatt Place, 2645 S. Melrose Drive, Vista, CA 92081.
Registrants should arrive between 7 and 7:30 a.m.; doors close promptly at 8 a.m.

Irving, TX Location Applicants should wear fitness attire on test day and bring their driver's license. Any former military applicants also should bring their DD-214 on test day. The fitness test will be conducted immediately after the civil service test, and being prepared will keep applicants together in their groups.
Vista, CA Location Applicants will take only the written portion of the exam. The physical fitness portion will be completed when applicants come to Irving to complete their background and employment process. Applicants should bring their driver's license. Any former military applicants also should bring their DD-214 on test day.
Applicants are required to present photo identification when checking in for the exam. Military applicants who have received an honorable discharge should also bring a copy of their DD-214 if they wish to receive the veteran's points upon passing the exam.
