Exam Dates


Walk-In Applicants can still take the July 20, 2019 civil service test.  

Walk-ins applicants will be taken on a first-come, first-served basis on the day of the test and will need to arrive no later than 6:45 a.m.

Upcoming Exams

The Irving Police Department has scheduled its next civil service exam at 8 a.m. July 20 at Nimitz High School, 100 W. Oakdale Road. Registrants should arrive between 7 and 7:30 a.m.; doors close promptly at 8 a.m. 

Walk-ins applicants will be taken on a first-come, first-served basis on the day of the test and will need to arrive no later than 6:45 a.m.  

Applicants should wear fitness attire on test day and bring their driver's license. Any former military applicants also should bring their DD-214 on test day. The fitness test will be conducted immediately after the civil service test, and being prepared will keep applicants together in their groups. 


Photo ID
Applicants are required to present photo identification when checking in for the exam. Military applicants who have received an honorable discharge should also bring a copy of their DD-214 if they wish to receive the veteran's points upon passing the exam.
