Irving Blue Tie Banquet

Each spring, the Irving Police Department (IPD) honors officers and staff for their accomplishments during the previous year at the Irving Convention Center at Las Colinas.  A silent auction kicks off the evening, followed by dinner. This annual event gives the department the opportunity to spotlight outstanding examples of leadership and excellence in our employees. Among several prestigious awards given are the Officer of the Year honor, and the Brass Pig award.

This year's award recipients are as follows: Civilian of the Year - Susan Waits, New Officer of the Year - Brendan Fowler, Supervisor of the Year - John Phillips, Officer of the Year - Bryan Jones, Chief's Unit Award - Burglary Unit and Crimes Against Persons Unit (CAPers), Brass Pig Award - Curtis Shield.

In addition to honoring the men and women of the IPD, the proceeds from this event help support the Irving Family Advocacy Center (FAC). The FAC and IPD partner together to respond to the needs of families and victims of crime in our community, by bringing together a wide variety of resources focused on providing assistance to the residents of Irving, including family counseling services, parent education classes and play therapy for young crime victims.
