Starting at the Teacher’s Book Sale, Aug. 17, Irving ISD faculty and staff who do not live in Irving may begin applying for Teacher Cards, leveling the playing field for all educators in the district. All Irving teachers and ISD staff can receive cards that have the same privileges and limits as those who live in Irving. The best part is, teachers and staff who don’t live in Irving, just like those who live in the city, can obtain this card for free!
Who is eligible and what is required to obtain a Teacher Card?
What privileges come with the Teacher Card?
Just like Irving resident cards, each Teacher Card will be set to a NEW status with a checkout limit of five items for the first ninety days. After ninety days, if the card is in good standing, the card will automatically be upgraded to a full-privilege card which includes a 50-item checkout limit. Teacher Cards which have passed the NEW period will need to be renewed annually. To renew, teachers must verify Photo and address ID with staff, show a current school ID or badge and have no current charges, no overdue items, and no other blocks on their account.
Imagine how access to Irving Public Library’s study rooms, public computers, streaming books, movies, music (and more!) can help embellish your personal knowledge and access to materials!
Can’t come to the Teacher Book Sale? No worries. Visit any library location to register for a Teacher Card. The Library’s Outreach Team could also be at your campus this fall for student and now teacher library card sign-ups.
